Photography Gear

I currently try to keep my photography gear minimal. I only use it in combination with hiking. Which is why I don’t want it to get to heavy.

Nikon D600 -
It does everything I ask it to do with excellent image quality. Even though it now is quite old I’ve yet to feel the need to upgrade.

Nikon 16-35mm f/4 VR -
My wide angle lens of choice. It is relatively light weight with a good zoom range. I can use 77mm filters on the lens.

Nikon 70-200mm f/4 VR -
My tele-photo lens of choice. It is light weight and it has to be one of Nikons sharpest lenses ever.

I will probably change all my filters to Breakthrough Photography filters they seem to be in a class of their own right now. - check them out here

Formatt-HiTech Firecrest Polarizing Filter -
Very thin filter with excellent quality.

Haida 10-stop ND-Filter -
A cheap filter that I bought early in my career but the quality is good enough that I haven’t seen the need to upgrade.

Banner 4-stop ND-Filter
Excellent strength for when the sun has set or I’m photographing waterfalls or streams.

Genesis C5 -
Carbon-fiber legs, they can get really high making it an excellent tripod for a variety of different shooting scenarios.

Genesis BH-40 -
Ball head that will hold most anything. It does what it is supposed to do.

MindShift Gear UltraLight 25L -
My small and light backpack. It is perfect for shorter hikes, photography trips that are no longer than just one sunrise or sunset. It holds my photography gear, a jacket and my coffee.

Tenba BYOB 13 -
Excellent camera insert so that I can keep my camera gear safe when carrying it in a normal hiking backpack.

JJC Remote Controller -
Very important piece of equipment when doing exposures longer than 30 seconds. It does the job and has a built in timer (very useful).

Filmmaking Gear

I use this gear to create my vlogs and my films. Mostly I only use a portion of the gear during a project. Each project requires different gear depending on style, time and budget.

Panasonic G7 -
I love this camera, very lightweight, excellent quality, versatile. But I am actually looking to upgrade it soon to a GH5 or something similar.

DJI Phantom 3 4K -
It offers excellent quality and a unique perspective. But I can’t recommend it for anyone seeing as there are better options on the market.

Panasonic 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS -
All around lens that is perfect for quick and effective filmmaking or vlogging.

Laowa 7.5mm f/2 -
Excellent wide angle lens that really helps out in low light situations thanks to the fast aperture.

Panasonic 25mm f/1.7 -
Mostly use this lens for controlled interview situations, the fast aperture makes it excellent for indoors use.

Panasonic 45-150mm f/4-5.6 OIS -
Tele-photo lens that I hope to upgrade. Not satisfied with the quality of this lens, it is soft compared to my other M43 lenses.

Röde VideoMicro -
Excellent audio quality, and truly amazing in windy situations.

Röde SmartLav+ -
Very useful in extreme conditions or interview situations where the subject is further away from the camera.

Zoom H1 -
I use the recorder to record ambiance audio, but also with the Röde SmartLac+ mic.

Genesis Base C5 -
I use the same tripod I use for photography, it’s the simplest way for me to have a video tripod with me on my adventures.

Genesis BH-40 -
Same as with the tripod, but I use the ball head as a leveling head for the video head.

Sirui VH-5 -
A small, lightweight, video head. A necessity to get smooth cinematic pans and titls.

Manfrotto Pixi-EVO 2 -
A small tripod that is very useful when I’m using the big tripod for photography. It’s also useful as a “selfie-stick” in order to get the camera further away from my face and it helps stabilize the footage a little bit.

ThinkTank StreetWalker HDD -
Probably the best photo/video backpack there is. But it isn’t the best for long hikes, but for carrying gear it is excellent.
